Before her consultancy, Layli began her distinguished career as a corporate attorney at Arnold & Porter and the U.S. Department of Justice. Driven by an unwavering commitment to justice, she founded the Tahirih Justice Center, serving as CEO for two decades. Under her transformative leadership, Tahirih grew to a $24 million organization with over 120 staff across five cities, providing critical protection for over 35,000 women and girls fleeing human rights abuses. A champion of diversity, equity, and inclusion, Layli spearheaded a DEI strategy that significantly increased leadership representation of people of color and implemented award-winning inclusive facilitation.

Layli's exceptional contributions have garnered widespread recognition. Layli holds JD (law) and MA (international relations) degrees from American University.
