Position Description

Papyrus S.A. is currently accepting applications for three Capacity Development Coaches on a Mastercard Foundation funded program called: Capacity Accompaniment Program. This program will support the Foundation’s efforts to strengthen the capacities of its African partners by offering capacity accompaniment services to up to 140 African Partners in countries where the Mastercard Foundation operates.

Responsibilities

These positions are part-time (up to 8 days/month) and based in one of the following three locations: Addis-Ababa, Ethiopia, Accra, Ghana and Lagos, Nigeria.

Specifically, the coach will:

• Participate in the organizational assessments for the target cohort of partner organizations and help define achievable activities to include in tailored action plans.

• Be responsible for coaching a cohort of up to 10 organizations over a 6-month period. Visit each organization periodically to check-in on progress against agreed upon activities and coach staff in their implementation using tools and templates provided.

• Report weekly to the Project Manager.

• Mentor partner organizations through coaching, encouraging them to participate in peer-to- peer learning opportunities, and encourage the use of the multiple self-led learning opportunities available to them.

• Ensure that partner organizations have their organizational needs and priorities met and note where capacity gaps are not being adequately addressed.  

• Attend individual and group capacity building workshops, trainings and coaching sessions on various topics as needed and support practical application knowledge acquired after the fact.

• Facilitate continuous learning for the management team to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the institutional strengthening process as the project progresses.

• Have follow-up meetings with the organization's leadership to address any concerns if their engagement metrics with the Shared Services Facilities (SSF) are lagging.

• Provide other support and assistance to Papyrus as requested.

Qualifications

• Must reside in one of the following locations: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia; Accra, Ghana; or Lagos, Nigeria.

• Alignment with Papyrus Values as described below

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, management, administration, or another related field

• Excellent field facilitation and inter-personal and presentation skills

• Excellent communications and organizational skills

• Experience providing training and capacity building support to local organizations

• General knowledge of accounting principles and procedures is preferred

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office package

• Strong motivational and leadership skills

• Fluency in English and at least one major local language is required.
